WAGES
Unions on Wednesday rejected South African Local Government Association's (Salga) three-year wage increase proposal during the first round of negotiations for municipal workers. The Independent Municipal and Allied Trade Union (Imatu) and Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu) affiliates, which collectively represent around 58% of the public service employees, asked Salga to return to the negotiation table with a revised offer.
