 Abstract: The Competition Commission has approved electrical and instrumentation solutions provider Zest WEG’s proposed acquisition of automation company TSS Engineering, TSS Transformers and Intertest, without conditions. Post-merger, Zest WEG would have sole control over the companies. Zest WEG specialised in the supply of low-, medium- and high-voltage electric motors, variable speed drives, soft starters, switchgear and transformers, motor control centers, containerised substations and diesel generator sets. TSS Transformers manufactured, repaired and supplied service transformers, mini-substations and switchgears to mines, local municipalities and companies across various economic sectors. TSS Engineering provided repair and refurbishment services for transformers, mini-substations and switchgears, while Intertest designed and manufactured resin-cast switchgears.
