Weighbridge automation solutions provider JustWeighs recently developed and launched its new AI and surveillance equipment to combat coal transportation corruption and illicit trading. The company makes use of AI and data analytics to identify trucks with cloned numberplates or swapped trailers, with tonnages of the dispatched weight measured into the cloud system, alerting the supply chain to variances in tonnages being received.

Anglo American is starting a formal process to sell its coal assets and explore options for its nickel operations after fending off a takeover threat from bigger rival BHP Group, CEO Duncan Wanblad said on Thursday. The Anglo CEO faces pressure from investors to boost the company's value by improving operational efficiencies and speeding up the sale of assets after rejecting three takeover proposals from the world No. 1 miner, which on Wednesday said it had no choice but to walk out.
Tsolido signs agreement with Red Cloud for liquidity services

TSX-V-listed Tsodilo Resources has retained Toronto-based financial services company Red Cloud Securities to provide liquidity services to the company. Red Cloud helps mineral exploration and mining companies to access capital markets and enhance their corporate profile. Red Cloud will trade Tsodilo shares on the TSX-V for the purposes of maintaining a reasonable market and improving the liquidity of Tsodilo’s common shares.

The green metals and gold producer has reached financial close for an additional 140 MW wind energy project, the Umsinde Emoyeni Wind Farm, located on the border between the Northern Cape and the Western Cape, near Murraysburg.

AQSE-listed Marula Mining has confirmed that the agreements which extend over all the company’s key operations activities at the Larisoro manganese mine, in Kenya, have been executed with several Kenya-based service providers. These agreements include contracts for the drilling and blasting of material on site; the use of mobile mining equipment for the mining, loading and hauling of the ore and waste material; and for the transportation of the manganese ore from Larisoro to Nairobi, where it will be delivered into existing sales agreements and a proposed new long-term offtake agreement.

UK politicians are calling on Anglo American AAL.L to rethink halting its work at the Woodsmith fertiliser project in northern England, part of an asset overhaul Anglo announced after rejecting takeover proposals from global miner BHP. Anglo's unit Crop Nutrients was holding a town hall meeting on Thursday to advise on the slowdown of the project in North Yorkshire, two sources said. Woodsmith currently gives work to around 2 000 people, including contractors, according to the mining company's website.
