The opening of water conservation solutions provider WaterSavr South Africa (SA) in November last year has seen the introduction of an important technology to the local fight to conserve water, which could prove to be a boon for government and farmers. WaterSavr, a proprietary technology developed in the US by environmental technology company Flexible Solutions International, is available in powder form. It can be can be applied to any large body of water from a small boat or an automated spreader. Once applied, a thin film forms on the surface of the water, which then automatically spreads, thereby limiting the amount of water lost due to evaporation.
