The 138 MW Roggeveld wind farm, in the Karoo, is one of five wind projects across the country to have been awarded preferred bidder status in the fourth round of government’s Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (REIPPPP). Energy Minister Tina Joemat-Pettersson on Thursday announced 13 preferred bidders for window four of the renewable energy programme, bringing the number of projects approved under this programme to 79 and adding a total of 5 243 MW of renewable energy bid to the national grid.
