DIVERSIFIED MINERS
Diversified giant BHP Billiton has reported record production from its Western Australian iron-ore operations during the six months to December, driven by the continued ramp-up in capacity at the Jimblebar mine.
Total iron-ore production for the six months increased to 117.6-million tonnes, with the December quarter’s production up 9% on the previous quarter, to 60-million tonnes.
