R440m WC refinery maintenance shutdown successfully completed

Chevron South Africa, which trades under the Caltex brand, has restarted production at its 110 000 bl/d crude oil refinery in Milnerton, in the Western Cape, after one if its most significant and successfully planned maintenance and safety inspections in which it invested about R440-million. The shutdown, which started in mid-February, generated an additional 3 000 contractor jobs for the region. About 2 600 contractors were on site on any given day.
