A new modular solar energy solution the PowerTurtle, valued at about R600 000, was launched at the Pheasant Folly Primary School in Palm Ridge, Gauteng, this month, First presented to the Gauteng Department of Education (DoE) in 2015, the system provides a way for government to provide sustainable and secure energy solutions for rural off-the-gird schools, renewable energy business Ugesi Gold CEO and PowerTurtle developer James van der Walt said at the inauguration of the system.
