INDUSTRIAL ACTION
Mine-site activities at base metals producer First Quantum Minerals' Cayeli copper/zinc mine, in north-eastern Turkey, will be limited to the areas of environment and safety, mine dewatering and underground rehabilitation, while a strike by workers is under way. The company on Tuesday said unionised workers at the mine had started a strike last Friday, after collective bargaining talks between the union and subsidiary company Cayeli Bakir Isletmeleri deadlocked.
