Volkswagen Group South Africa (VWSA) chairperson and MD Thomas Schäfer has been appointed as chairperson of the African Association of Automotive Manufacturers (AAAM). Former AAAM chairperson and Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa president and CEO Jeff Nemeth returned to the US on June 8, following the end of his tenure at the American carmaker’s Pretoria-based operations.
