The idea to use innovative rocket technology that uses asteroid metal as fuel to achieve industrial-scale transport of mined asteroid material has been crowned the winner of the 2017 Singularity University Global Impact Challenge (GIC) Southern Africa edition competition. The US-based Singularity University is dedicated to leveraging technologies for the benefit of humanity and hosts the Global Impact Challenges (GICs) in countries worldwide.
