$900m engineering, procurement contract for copper smelter awarded

Engineering, procurement and construction management and consultation company Chiyoda Singapore, a subsidiary of integrated engineering company Chiyoda Corporation, has been awarded a $900-million offshore engineering and procurement contract for mining and processing company PT Freeport Indonesia’s (PTFI’s) Indonesia Copper Smelter (ICS) project. The ICS project site is based in the Gresik regency, in East Java, and will process up to two-million tons a year of Grasberg copper concentrate.
