Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and high-density polyethylene water reticulation and drainage pipe and fitting systems manufacturer DPI Plastics warns that the South African market needs to be aware of the differences between PVC sewer fittings and polypropylene (PP) sewer fittings, as a fitting installed into an application that it has not been designed for might lead to premature failure of sewer lines. DPI Plastics technical and product manager Renier Snyman calls for increased awareness about PP and PVC in light of PP fittings for sewer and drainage applications slowly being introduced into the local market.
