The City of Cape Town will introduce flexi-hours and an option for working from home for some employees to help reduce the city's infamous rush-hour gridlock. The city also wants bosses in private companies to consider doing the same. Something had to give, said Brett Herron, the city's mayoral committee member for transport, noting that residents spent up to three hours a day in peak-hour traffic because of the traditional 08:00 to 17:00 working hours.
