Freight logistics group Transnet on Wednesday unveiled its new leadership team and structure, which the State-owned company said was in line with revisions to its operating model and its aspiration to capture new market opportunities. Group CEO Siyabonga Gama, who was recently confirmed as the company's permanent head, having acted in the position since the department of Brian Molefe to Eskom, confirmed that Ravi Nair had been appointed CEO of Transnet Freight Rail (TFR), the group’s biggest division. Nair had been acting in the position, which was previously held by Gama himself. Meanwhile, Mlamuli Buthelezi was confirmed as COO and it was announced that the heads of all the operating divisions would now report to him. Besides Nair, Karl Socikwa was confirmed as head of Transnet Port Terminals, Sharla Chetty as Transnet Pipelines CEO, Richard Vallihu as head of Transnet National Ports Authority and Thabo Lebelo as CEO of Transnet Property.
