RENEWABLE ENERGY
The first two shiploads of wind-turbine components have landed in Port of Ngqura, in the Eastern Cape, from where they will be transported by road to the MetroWind Van Stadens wind farm site, in the Eastern Cape.
The R550-million, 27 MW project is being developed by Rubicept, a special purpose project company established to develop, operate and maintain the project, which is backed by Old Mutual, Basil Read Energy, Afri-Coast Engineers, Spilled Water Renewable Energy and the Metrowind Community Trust.
