City Power working around the clock to restore power in central Joburg

Johannesburg’s City Power said on Tuesday that it had restored at least 27% of the power in the inner city following a fire at an underground tunnel that was caused by cable thieves. City Power said the damage to the cables had resulted from fire during the attempted cable theft on Sunday morning, affecting multiple feeders and load centre at various sub stations in the central business district.
