Company registration and business licensing organisation, the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) reports that companies will soon be able to attain black economic empowerment (BEE) certificates from South Africa’s four main banking institutions. CIPC commissioner Advocate Rory Voller notes that the pilot phase, completed at Nedbank, has been successful. This means that the CIPC can begin rolling out this service at the rest of the “big four banks” in the coming weeks.
