Rare-earth element mining company Rainbow Rare Earths says it has made significant progress towards achieving first production at its Gakara rare earths project in Burundi, East Africa, with about $6-million has been invested in the project to date. Bolstered by Rainbow’s completion of an $8-million fund raise and initial public offering earlier this year, first production and sales of 5 000 t/y of rare earths concentrate are scheduled for the fourth quarter.
