BASE METALS REVIVAL

Orion Minerals CEO Errol Smart, above, took Mining Weekly on a guided tour of the company’s Prieska zinc and copper project in the Northern Cape, where the company is leading a revival of the historic former workings of South Africa’s now defunct Anglovaal group. The Sydney-listed company’s secondary listing on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange last week is providing leverage towards efficient local funding options. The acquisition of Agama Exploration and Mining earlier this year has provided the exploration company with a  portfolio of projects, including an advanced volcanic massive sulphide zinc/copper exploration project with near-term production potential at the Prieska zinc/copper site.
